OVERVIEW
Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) happens when the valve through which blood is carried into your lungs is under too much pressure.
PAH is harder to diagnose than other respiratory issues because the symptoms are often the same — shortness of breath, wheezing, dry cough, chest pain, etc.

CAUSES & SYMPTOMS
To diagnose a patient with pulmonary arterial hypertension, one of our physicians may order one or several exams such as blood tests, CT scans, or a chest x-ray.
DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT
If after the tests your physicians determines you have PAH, he will offer treatment options that best suite your particular diagnosis and symptoms, and could include lifestyle changes, medications, and, in some cases, medical procedures such as blood transfusions or heart valve repair.
